"When you own a supplement company you have an added level of responsibility to be fit," says Sherwin, owner of an HCG diet site, and other health and wellness websites.

Sherwin qualified for nationals by winning his age group on the Icebreaker Triathlon in American Fork Utah. Since then, he's taken 2nd in his age group in the Rage In The Sage Olympic Triathlon in Las Vegas, placing 21st overall. Asked if he takes his own supplements he says, "For sure, I learned a long time ago the value of great supplements whether you are an athlete or just somebody trying to lose a few pounds." He says. "I believe l-arginine benefits are undisputed, I take l-arginine every day and wouldn't be without it for the heart healthy benefits and exercise boost it gives. I'm also a big fan of deer antler velvet extract. I just started taking it this year and have noticed a big improvement in performance."

Sherwin?s biggest seller at the moment though is HCG, the controversial low calorie weight loss protocol talked about by Dr. Oz and many others. Asked if he has ever taken it he says, ?No, I have never needed to, and I don?t think people who have less than 20 pounds to lose should use HCG for weight loss. But I realize a lot of people are in that boat. They would love to be out running, hiking, or whatever else, but those extra pounds really slow them down and put limits on their lifestyles. We love it when we hear of people losing so much weight so fast on our HCG EZ Drops,? he says.

To prepare for the national championships, Sherwin has joined the CK Elite Triathlon Team and is on a strict workout schedule of 11 workouts a week, for 12 hours total. ?It?s a lot of work, but very rewarding, I?ve never felt better in my life,? he says. ?And who knows? If I do well in Nationals, I could win a spot at the world championships in London England in 2013, that?s my next goal."
